Basic orchid care for your orchids from Orchids Galore.
- Watering - Water thouroughly when mix is dry. First, remove plant from any decorative container. Then
place plant in sink and let water run through the pot for 2 to 3 minutes. Allow water to drain before
returning to container.
Water every 7 to 10 days in winter and 5 to 7 days in summer for outdoor plants. Every 5 to 7 days for indoor plants.
Never allow a plant to remain in standing water in container or saucer.
- Fertilizing - Fertilize once a month with soluble plant food such as Peter's or Miracle Grow 20-20-20 at one-half teaspoon
per gallon of water.
- Lighting - Orchids love bright indirect or filtered light. They cannot tolerate direct sun between 10 AM to 3 PM.
- Temperature - Orchids are comfortable at the same temperature you are. Bring indoors if temperature drops below 40 degrees.
